It’s official: The HERO Financing Program is now available for homeowners within the City of San Diego! HERO stands for Home Energy Renovation Opportunity and is different from other financing programs as it offers financing for approved energy efficient, water efficient, and renewable energy products. The HERO program can be used to finance the cost to install products that meet energy efficiency qualifications with low-fixed interest rates, 5, 10, 15, or 20 year payment terms and repayments made through property taxes.
While traditional financing programs base eligibility primarily on credit scores and payment histories, the HERO Program uses the homeowner’s home equity plus mortgage and property tax payment history for qualification. The homeowner cannot have had a bankruptcy within the last 7 years. The process for applying for a HERO loan is very simple and straightforward. Carini Heating, Air and Plumbing is a Registered Contractor in the HERO Program, and is available to answer questions about the program, provide payment estimates and to work with homeowners and HERO representatives to make the process as easy and fast as possible.

Financing payments for qualified energy efficient heating and air conditioning products will be itemized on homeowner property tax bills.
